CHILDY'S DREAM
by SYLVIA NABER
SUMMARY
Childy, a girl of ten years old is asking a lot of questions on her grandparents about how they meet each other. The grandfather Nick Legato was a fighter pilot. Her grandmother Lana Geray was the world champion of the one hundred meters hurdles.
All started with a bet when they were kids.
After a while the audience discoveres that all this story is the imagination of a screenwriter Babeth and a maker of movies Phil.
Threw the comments and questions of Childy, and threw the way how Babeth will write the screenplay, we will see all the training that Lana did and her rapid growth as an athlet, how Nick becomes a military and fighter pilot, the first weddind of Lana with a journalist, the Nick first solo flight on a fighter jet, how they meet each other several times before getting married and how Nick "betrayals" Army to save Russian dissidents.
At the end we understand that Babeth is Lana's daughter and see her wedding with Phil superimposition with the one of Lana and Nick.

Sequence 3 - Int. day - Lounge (NOW) :
CHILDY :
To fight what ?
GRANDFATHER :
Planes, Pretty Girl...
CHILDY :
But why do you want to fight planes ?
GRANDFATHER :
It's very difficult to explain.
The grandfather takes three miniature planes from the bookcase and mimes as he talks.
GRANDFATHER :
See this plane in my right hand ? ... Let's say it's called Alpha Tango. The other two in my left hand belong to another country.
CHILDY :
Let's say they're called Sharon and Bruce.
GRANDFATHER :
Is Bruce your boyfriend ?
CHILDY :
Oh ! Don't be silly, continue with your story.
GRANDFATHER :
So, let's say that Sharon and Bruce are flying in our airspace even though they are not allowed to. Then, Alpha Tango will chase them away. And sometimes, they have to use these .... (showing her the air to air missiles).
CHILDY :
That's silly ! Why doesn't Alpha Tango just ask them to leave ?
GRANDFATHER :
I told you, Childy, it's complicated.
CHILDY :
Oh well, and what about Grandma ? How did you meet her ?
GRANDFATHER :
So, this girl had guessed what my ambition was !
CHILDY :
And did you get engaged when you were my age ?
GRANDFATHER :
No, of course not !
CHILDY :
What a shame ! ... And WHAT ABOUT Grandma? HOW DID YOU MEET HER ?
The Grandmother enters the room..
GRANDMOTHER :
Well kids, it's time for bed.
CHILDY :
Oh no ! ... Grandad was telling me how you met each other.
GRANDMOTHER :
That's the point. It's gonna take time.
GRANDFATHER :
I'll tell you the rest tomorrow.
